Emma Watson is set to take the lead role in a big-screen adaptation of Emma Forrest’s novel Your Voice In My Head.
The former Harry Potter star, 23, will portray a writer with bipolar disorder, living and working in the US, who attempts to take her own life.
Forrest’s book, a memoir of her experiences and recovery, also details the work of her dedicated psychiatrist – who is himself dealing with terminal cancer.
The Hunger Games star Stanley Tucci has been linked to that role, but there’s been no suggestion this is more than a rumour.
Forrest herself has penned the screenplay and Francesca Gregorini (co-director of Tanner Hall) will direct, reports Deadline.
Harry Potter director David Yates was originally in place to helm the film, but the Potter reunion failed to materialise.
The movie is another switch up for Watson, who has taken on a variety of roles, from The Bling Ring and This Is The End, that have pushed the post-Potter boundaries.
