Enter, stranger. Classic children’s’ TV show Knightmare is being revived for a one-off episode.
The Dungeons and Dragons-style favourite, which mixes live contestants with CGI dungeons, ran for eight series between 1987 and 1994 on CITV – but now it is set to make its return via YouTube.
The new on-off special, which has been produced by the original show’s creator Tim Child, has been filmed as part of YouTube’s Geek Week. The episode will feature Treguard, the dungeon master, as well as Peep Show‘s Isy Suttie, Harry Potter’s Jessie Cave and four YouTube stars: Dan Howell, Phil Lester, Emma Blackery and Stuart Ashen.
Running between 4 and 10 August, YouTube’s Geek Week will celebrate science fiction, comics, gaming and science. The week aims to showcase the British talent thriving online and will see appearances from celebrities like Jamie Oliver and Brian Blessed.
