Susan Sarandon (Cloud Atlas, Thelma and Louise), Melissa McCarthy (Bridesmaids) and Sandra Oh (Grey's Anatomy) are currently filming in Niagara Falls for their new Warner Bros comedy Tammy.
The cast and crew were seen shooting the closing scene on the observation deck at Niagara Falls State Park, and also filmed scenes at the Cave of the Winds, a stunning 7,000 feet high natural cave with impressive stalactites and stalagmites.
The movie is directed by Melissa McCarthy’s husband Ben Falcone, and follows a woman who loses her job and goes on a road trip with her wild, hard-drinking mother after her husband has an affair.
Western New York is enjoying the increase in tourism that the Tammy film and crew has brought to the area:
“We’re elated when we have a production like this with A-list actors,” explained John Percy, from Niagara Tourism and Convention Corp.
“Millions will view Niagara Falls on that big screen in 2014, and that is invaluable to this destination.”
Tammy is due for release in 2014.
