EastEnders star Chucky Venn is to exit the BBC1 soap. His character, Ray Dixon, will depart at the end of May after being written out by show bosses.
Speaking today, the 39-year-old actor said: “Working on EastEnders has been one of my career highlights and an invaluable experience. I couldn’t have asked for a better team to work with and have found a lifelong friend in my on-screen partner Tameka. I want to thank everyone who supported me on the show.”
Ray, who is the father of Bianca’s son Morgan, arrived on screens in January 2012 and has recently been involved in a relationship with Kim Fox (Tameka Empson). He was also one of the early suspects in the ‘Who is Kat’s lover?’ storyline that began last summer. Ray's exit storyline will see him leave Albert Square in order to look after his daughter Sasha, whose mother has fallen ill.
Before his stint on EastEnders, Chucky Venn was best known for his roles as footballers Tremaine Gidigbi in Footballers’ Wives and Curtis Alexander in Dream Team.
