Filming for Doctor Who's 50th anniversary is now well under way, and this week production travelled to the historic Tower of London, which aficianados will recall has previously served as an HQ for Earth defence force UNIT.
Jenna-Louise Coleman, Jemma Redgrave - who plays UNIT's head of scientific research - and newly-confirmed cast member Ingrid Oliver were all on location yesterday, and were treated to a rare appearance by the British sunshine. Oliver - who performs together with Lorna Watson as comedy double act Watson & Oliver - can be seen shooting scenes in a stripy scarf reminiscent of Tom Baker's fourth reincarnation of the Doctor.
The upcoming 50th anniversary celebration - written by series showrunner Steven Moffat - will star current Doctor and assistant Matt Smith and Jenna-Louise Coleman, alongside past pairing David Tennant and Billie Piper.
As the crew and director Nick Hurran shot scenes outside the London landmark (home to the crown jewels, and almost as old as the Doctor himself) members of the cast took time out to chat about their experiences filming.
