Gary Oldman has shared the screen with Tom Hardy on numerous occasions – in The Dark Knight Rises, Lawless and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy – and the pair are set to reunite again for 1950s Soviet crime thriller, Child 44.
Hardy will star as a military police officer investigating a series of child murders, only to come under suspicion himself. Oldman will play the police chief pursuing Hardy's character as he races to solve the case and clear his name.
Also among the cast are The Killing's Joel Kinnaman, as one of Hardy’s colleagues, and Prometheus's Noomi Rapace as his wife, who has secrets of her own.
The film is adapted from Tom Smith’s novel and will be directed by Safe House’s Daniel Espinosa.
Child 44 is slated for release in 2014.
