New dark comedy Birdman has released details of a star-studded Hollywood cast that includes a former Batman, Spider-Man's love interest - and a member of the wolfpack...
Michael Keaton, Emma Stone, Zach Galifianakis and Naomi Watts have all signed up to star in director Alejandro Gonzalez Innaritu's new project, which follows the story of a former actor who once played an iconic superhero trying to reclaim his credibility by appearing in a Broadway play.
Keaton - who portrayed Batman in the 1989 and 1992 films - will play the comic book movie star, with Stone taking on the role of his daughter who has just emerged from rehab to begin work as an assistant to her egotistical father. Watts will portray an actress in the play, which is based on a Raymond Carver short story, meanwhile Galifianakis - who made his name as Alan in The Hangover - will star as the production's conniving producer.
The film is expected to begin shooting in April, but with the two leads in the play-within-a-film yet to be announced, the star-studded cast list could gain another couple of A-listers before production commences.
