The film junket interview is a difficult gig for journalists. A bored star sits in front of a poster for the movie, answering the same old questions about their character and how nice the rest of the cast are. How do you make it interesting? And what happens if it's your first one ever, and you're faced with gorgeous Hollywood A-lister Mila Kunis?
For Chris Stark, a sidekick on Radio 1's Scott Mills show, the answer was simple: immediately admit to being incredibly nervous about the whole enterprise, then abandon your prepared questions and concentrate on asking the star out on a date – in Watford.
During a constantly entertaining seven-minute interview, Kunis – who handles it brilliantly and says Stark's unique style is "the best interview I've had today" – is invited to go drinking (in Watford), watch Stark's local football team (Watford) and attend a wedding as his +1.
"I'm used to being down my local pub with the boys," says Stark, explaining his jitters. "I cannot wait to tell them about this later… I'll get massive Lad Points for it."
Stark later names the boys – "Sir Dosser, The Convict, Chango the Beast, Cantona..." – before outlining how he and Kunis might enjoy a trip to watch Watford play, preceded by a visit to Nando's.
After several minutes of Stark propositions, the star glances at a doubtless rather vexed publicist behind her and reels off a series of pat answers to generic questions about Oz: the Great and the Powerful, in an effort to stop Stark getting in trouble with his employers.
He's not likely to: this is surely the celeb interview of the year. Watch it in full below:
