Forget The X Factor, Got To Dance and Masterchef. The truly talented among us can now set their sights on the highest of achievements: becoming the next presenter to grace the iconic Blue Peter set.
A job on the world's longest-running children's TV show is not for everyone, but if you're an arty, cookery-loving, animal-friendly adrenaline junkie with a passion for charity fundraising and being a bit silly, So You Think You Can Be A Blue Peter Presenter could just be the televised competition you've been waiting for...
Hosted by the irreverent comedy duo Dick and Dom and a band of judges, the CBBC show is embarking on a hunt for the next perky presenter to follow in the footsteps of Blue Peter greats John Noakes, Valerie Singleton, Peter Purves, Anthea Turner, Gethin Jones, Katy Hill, Konnie Huq and Matt Baker.
And while you may think CBBC would be easier on their prospective employees than Simon Cowell is to his wannabe recording artists, to bag this dream job contestants will have to endure auditions, elimination stages and a gruelling set of challenges.
When it comes down to who gets the job, the ultimate decision will be made by the veteran show's viewers. Fans will also be able to have their say on the sort of challenges the presenting hopefuls will face by voting on the CBBC website.
CBBC controller Cheryl Taylor said: "Working on Blue Peter is a dream job for any aspiring presenter... With the irrepressible Dick and Dom on hand to orchestrate proceedings we anticipate high tension and high jinks!"
If you think you've got what it takes, email firstname.lastname@example.org for details on how to apply.
So You Think You Can Be A Blue Peter Presenter will be broadcast on CBBC this summer.
