Series three of hit Danish drama Borgen will air on BBC4, the channel has confirmed.
Having aired the first two seasons of the show, which stars Sidse Babett Knudsen as Danish prime minister Birgitte Nyborg, BBC4 will complete the story this winter, with an early 2014 slot likely. Previous series aired in January 2012 and January 2013, with last month's second run attracting around 1 million viewers each week.
"Strong characters coupled with delicately woven personal and political storylines have kept our audiences hooked on a Saturday night," said BBC4 controller Richard Klein, "and the final season will be equally as engrossing."
Camilla Hammerich, creative producer of Borgen for Denmark's DR network, said: "We are so thrilled that BBC4 is on board for season three - and amazed at how UK viewers have taken the series into their hearts."
