The cast of Marvel’s Avengers Assemble will be swapping their spandex for tuxedos later this month when they’ll be acting as presenters at the Oscars.
Academy Award show producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron announced today that Samuel L Jackson, Robert Downey Jr, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner and Chris Evans will all appear on stage at the event on Sunday 24 February.
In a statement, Zadan and Meron said: “We are happy to re-unite the Avengers cast to present on our show.
“Audiences who enjoyed the year’s biggest box office hit will be excited to see these terrific actors back together again.”
Four of the five Avengers actors have been nominated for Oscars in previous years: Downey Jr and Renner have both been tipped for awards twice, while Ruffalo and Jackson have both had one historic Oscar nomination apiece.
Jackson also co-starred in this year’s best picture-nominated Django Unchained.
Avengers Assemble, which grossed over $1,5m worldwide after its release in April 2012, is up for this year's best visual effects gong.
The 85th Academy Awards will be hosted by Seth Putnam and previously announced Oscars presenters include Meryl Streep, Jean Dujardin, Octavia Spencer and Christopher Plummer.
