Sky have made their Sky+ app available to customers with Android devices, so Sky users can now control their TV from any smartphone or tablet.
Users with an internet-connected Sky+HD box will now be able to play, pause and rewind TV as well as change channels using their Android device. Sky customers can also manage their TV planner, browse the coming week’s TV, add or delete recorded programmes and receive recommendations from Sky.
Before today the Sky+ remote control app had only been available on Apple devices. On Demand listings will become available on the Android app later this year.
Since its launch in 2009, Sky’s free app has been downloaded more than 5 million times.
