Robert Downey Jr in Iron Man 3 Super Bowl TV spot – video

Watch a new teaser for the Marvel Comics sequel which aired during Super Bowl XLVII

Iron Man fans were given a brand new “extensive, rather than extended” look at the Marvel franchise’s third film last night during Super Bowl XLVII.

Featuring an introduction (of sorts) from Iron Man 3 star Robert Downey Jr, the new TV spot also boasts the first glimpses of Guy Pearce in the film and gives us a longer look at a scene from previous trailers in which Iron Man saves some passengers on Air Force One after the plane gets attacked:

After battling Obadiah Stane and Ivan Vanko in the first two films, Iron Man 3 pits the “brash-but brilliant” industrialist Tony Stark (Downey Jr) against infamous Marvel supervillain the Mandarin.

Directed by Shane Black and featuring the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Stephanie Szostak, James Badge Dale  and Ben Kingsley among its cast, Iron Man 3 will be released in the UK on Friday 26 April.
