Benedict Cumberbatch and Chris Pine demonstrated their fizzing on-screen animosity in a new Star Trek Into Darkness TV spot, which aired last night during Super Bowl XLVII.

While we’ve already seen Captain James T. Kirk (Pine) and John Harrison (Cumberbatch) trading threats in previous trailers, the Super Bowl TV spot gives us a look at a new scene in which Harrison declares his superiority to Kirk, declaring that he’s “better” than the Enterprise captain at “everything.”

The TV spot also features new footage of a badly damaged Enterprise crashing into a cityscape, continuing the apocalyptic theme of previous Into Darkness teasers:

Directed by J.J. Abrams, and featuring Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, John Cho and Alice Eve among its cast, Star Trek Into Darkness will be released in the UK on Friday 17 May.

If you missed them first time around, check out the film’s extended trailer and this selection of pictures featuring the Into Darkness cast in character..
