Clare Balding is officially Britain's most "fascinating person"... well, at least as far as the users of Tatler magazine's website are concerned.
That's right, the presenter who dominated our screens during the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic coverage has beaten the Royal family to become the most searched-for individual on the magazine's online 'Tatler List' of notable figures.
In second place on the list was Pippa Middleton (the woman who left millions of male jaws hanging on the floor following her famous behind's appearance at 2011's royal wedding), followed by Russian billionaire (maybe that's what makes him fascinating) and owner of Chelsea Football Club, Roman Abramovich.
But perhaps most surprising are the two figures Balding beat into fourth and fifth place - the Queen and Sherlock actor Benedict Cumberbatch. We're pretty sure Cumberbatch's loyal army of fans will have a thing or two to say about Balding's "fascination-factor"... And what could interest the British public more than Her Maj's two-minute skydive alonside none other than James Bond himself?
So following this informed and in-depth analysis of Tatler's results tally we want to know what you think: is Balding "more fascinating" to you than the likes of the Duchess of Cambridge's sister and mighty Cumberbatch? Does the Queen command your interest more than moneybags Abramovich? If you disagree with Tatler's list - or if you feel the need to affirm their "informed" decision - vote in our poll below...
