Dawn French has been cast in James Corden's new BBC2 comedy thriller The Wrong Mans – playing his mum.
The series, which is filming now, is written by Corden and co-star Mathew Baynton (Horrible Histories, Spy, Peep Show) and follows two office workers, Phil Bourne and Sam Pinkett, who become wrapped up in a deadly conspiracy after finding a ringing phone at the scene of an accident.
The cast also includes Rebecca Front (Grandma's House, The Thick of It) as the head of MI5, and Him & Her's Sarah Solemani as Baynton's boss, while Emilia Fox (Silent Witness) and Nick Moran (Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels) play Scarlett and Stevens, a mysterious pair in pursuit of Corden and Baynton's characters.
Completing the line-up are Dan Skinner (aka Angelos Epithemiou), Rufus Jones (Holy Flying Circus, Hunderby), Tom Basden (Cowards), Stephen Campbell Moore (Hunted), Karl Roden (Hellboy) and Benedict Wong (Fifteen Storeys High).
The Wrong Mans – a co-production with US streaming service Hulu – airs on BBC2 later this year.
