Today Jess and I leave the palatial surroundings of our Pasadena hideaway and head for LA proper. We make our get away in a friend's red pick up truck. In my head we are like Thelma and Louise. Who knows, Brad Pitt could turn up any minute... I stick on Dolly Parton's 'Jolene' to complete the picture.

We will no longer be fed, watered and kept awake, we are fending for ourselves post-press tour... Who knows what will become of us! We both wanted to spend some time in LA before we return to snowy London, so we're setting up home in west Hollywood for a few weeks.

We pull onto the drive of our new apartment with some trepidation, I turn to Jess: "We're not in Kansas anymore Toto"... Luckily we have chosen a great little place surrounded by lemon trees and a stone's throw from our favourite shops!

Once settled in, we rush off for a few meetings... And are giddy with excitement when we bump into Mark Wahlberg! I'm sure he smiles at me and assume he must be a massive fan of Call the Midwife, as I throw him my best pearly white grin. Much to my embarrassment I realise he is just squinting in search of his ray bans... I slink off, blushing into my slush puppy.
