Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge are expecting their first child in July, according to a statement released by St James's Palace.
"Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to confirm they are expecting a baby in July," said a Palace spokesman.
He also confirmed that the Duchess was making progress following the severe morning sickness that saw her hospitalised late last year.
"The Duchess's condition continues to improve since her stay in hospital last month," said the statement.
It was announced that Kate was pregnant on 3 December after she was admitted to hospital suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum. Discharged after three days, the Duchess of Cambridge spent a period resting at home before making her first public appearance at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year ceremony on 16 December.
Kate was last seen in public on Friday when she attended an event at the National Portrait Gallery where her first official portrait was unveiled.
