Pop star, former X Factor judge, ex-Home and Away actress and all-round tabloid favourite Dannii Minogue will return to British talent show TV next year as a judge on Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model.
The 41-year old singer will join the Elle Macpherson vehicle on Sky Living for the ninth “cycle” of the show when it returns in 2013. She will judge wannabe models in the talent show alongside male supermodel Tyson Beckford and at least one other as-yet unconfirmed judge. The previous series saw US designer and reality star Whitney Port and British fashion guru Julien Macdonald also sit on the panel alongside Elle.
Minogue is no stranger to talent show judging, having been on the panel of The X Factor in the UK from 2007 to 2010 alongside Simon Cowell, and having worked on Australia’s Got Talent for all six seasons of the programme.
Dannii’s fashion credentials are in place too. She co-founded Project D, a fashion line that has sold well in both the UK and Australian markets and has been worn by Kate Middleton and Elizabeth Hurley.
Danni said: “I’m brushing up on my model moves and with my highest platform heels on, I am excited to come face to face with (well, maybe look up to) the glamazons of BINTM 2013.
“Mentoring and judging has been a major part of my life since 2007. It will be great to share some fashion and modelling experience with the girls.”
Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model is based on a US format created by American supermodel Tyra Banks. It began life on UK TV as just Britain’s Next Top Model in 2005 with model Lisa Butcher presenting. In 2006, British model Lisa Snowdon took over helming the show. Elle Macpherson has fronted the star search, which last year was won by Emma Grattidge, since 2010.
