Wild Weather in 2012 - 5:30pm, BBC1

A regional review of a year of extreme weather and the effect it has had on each local area - from flooding to heavy snowfall via giant hailstones and fallen trees.

Wild at Heart - 8:00pm, ITV1

After seven series, Wild at Heart is saying a final goodbye. In a feature-length special, Cassidy the three-legged cheetah and her mate are stolen by poachers and the family go in search of the animals.

The Hotel - 8:00pm, Channel 4

As the third series begins, we go back behind the scenes at The Grosvenor Hotel in Torquay. After a hard winter, hotel manager Mark must find a way to save the business from collapse.

Ripper Street - 9:00pm, BBC1

It's 1889 in Whitechapel, London. When a woman is found dead and savagely mutilated the community fears Jack the Ripper has returned, so Detective Inspector Reid ropes in his American friend to help hunt down the killer. Starring Matthew Macfadyen, Jerome Flynn and Adam Rothenberg. Watch the trailer.

Big Fat Quiz of the Year - 9:00pm, Channel 4

Get your pen and paper at the ready as Jimmy Carr hosts his annual quiz. Joined by big names including Jack Whitehall, James Corden, Jonathan Ross and Russell Howard, Carr quizzes the nation on the major events of 2012.

Neil Armstrong: First Man on the Moon - 9:00pm, BBC2

A documentary looking at the life of Neil Armstrong, from his childhood during the Great Depression to his 1969 mission on Apollo 11. The hour-long programme has interviews with his widow, first wife, siblings, children and best friend - as well as astronauts Mike Collins, Buzz Aldrin, Charlie Duke and Dave Scott.

Plus, another chance to see The Snowman and The Snowdog - 5:35pm, Channel 4
