You’re standing on platform 9¾ at Kings Cross station, about to get the train to wizard school, when you realise you’ve forgotten to pack your wand. We've all been there.

Great news, then, that a handy Harry Potter shop is opening in that very spot, selling not only wands but also witches’ and wizards’ robes, Hogwarts school uniforms, broomsticks and a variety of other magical merchandise.

True, from certain angles the store does look like a branch of that other train station staple, Tie Rack – but at least it offers an alternative when you're doing that last-minute present-buying on your way home for Christmas.
