Cricket star Michael Vaughan has become the eighth celebrity to be eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing 2012.
The judges' scores combined with the public vote left Vaughan and his professional dance partner Natalie Lowe in the bottom two with former Westlife star Nicky Byrne and partner Karen Hauer. Both pairs performed for a second time, before the judges delivering a unanimous verdict.
Bruno said: "Well I really have to go for the couple who for me had the licence to thrill… and that was Nicky & Karen
Added Craig: "Well this couple were absolutely sensational, the second time round. That couple was Nicky & Karen
Michael Vaughan said of his Strictly experience: "I've had a ball. Nine weeks ago I had never been on a shiny floor, and I’ve got to December. September, October, November and still dancing in December. I’ve drained every ouce of dance ability out of my body because of this lady… everything about this show, the judges and everyone backstage, all the contestants have been great, I’ve got new friends that I’ve made for life. Nicky thoroughly deserved that win, he wiped the floor with me! I’ve had a ball, and the real winner for me is this one [Natalie]. She got me to the ninth week, which is quite remarkable."
His partner Natalie Lowe added: "Words can’t describe how incredible you are. Thank you so much for making this dream come true. I’m sorry I couldn’t have taken you further."
Six celebrities remain in this year's Strictly contest that sees Olympic hero Louis Smith and TV personality Denise Van Outen as the two stand-out favourites to make it to the final and fight it out for the title.
Strictly continues next Saturday at 6:50pm on BBC1
