Channel 4 has delayed any repeat of the BBC's attempt to poach its property presenters Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer by extending the pair's exclusive deal, RadioTimes.com can reveal.

The Location, Location, Location stars will now stay off the market until 2014 after Channel 4 quietly signed them up for another year.

The move reflects the popularity of Kirstie's crafting shows and property-marketing series Phil Spencer: Secret Agent, as well as the programmes they present together, such as Location.

Allsopp and Spencer's contract was due to end in spring 2013 but it has now emerged that around two months ago they agreed to sign again for another year, taking them up until 2014.

In 2010, the pair took a much-publicised three-year deal with Channel 4 – reportedly worth around £400,000 per year – after the BBC failed to persuade them to switch channels.

It is not known how much the latest deal is worth or what the fee is to Spencer and Allsopp's production company Raise the Roof, which makes Phil Spencer: Secret Agent and Allsopp's current show Kirstie's Vintage Christmas.

According to Channel 4 sources, Allsopp and Spencer, "have a good relationship with the channel."

A Channel 4 spokesman confirmed that the pair will be staying with the broadcaster "until 2014".
