Fee-fi-fo-fum… Nicholas Hoult stars in new trailer for Jack The Giant Slayer

The silver screen re-imagining of the classic fairy tale also stars Ewan McGregor, Bill Nighy, Stanley Tucci and narrator Ian McKellen

Another fairy tale gets the Hollywood treatment next year as the big-budget re-imagining of English folk tale Jack and the Giant Beanstalk crashes into our cinemas on 22 March 2013.

Equipped with a dramatic new title – Jack The Giant Slayer –  and starring British actor Nicholas Hoult (first known for his geeky turn alongside Hugh Grant in About a Boy), the CGI-packed adaptation promises to be brimming with giants, beanstalks and famous faces – well, what did you expect?

But as the two-and-a-half minute teaser warns us, “If you think you know the story, you don’t know Jack”…

The titular young farmhand unwittingly opens up a portal between our world on Earth and a land populated by a race of giants, eager to descend Jack’s giant beanstalk and reclaim ownership of the land they once ruled over. In the trailer poor Jack is seen falling in love with a princess, leading her rescue mission after she’s kidnapped by the giants, and putting himself in all sorts of bother as he wages war with his sizeable enemies.

The impressive cast for the Bryan Singer-directed action adventure showcases Skins alumni Hoult alongside Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Bill Nighy, Ian McShane and narrator Ian McKellen. Check them out in action below:
