Coronation Street spoilers: Kirsty gets violent, Tyrone plans to flee, plus Fiz is in trouble

It all gets pretty desperate for poor Tyrone next week when he’s incarcerated in his own home by Kirsty, who suspects that he’s up to no good with Fiz.

After finding dozens of messages from Fiz on his mobile, the crazed ex-copper puts Ty’s keys and phone into her bag, deadlocks the door and heads to work. Upon her return, Ty – fearing any consequences – plays along as Kirsty denies that she pocketed the keys deliberately. But when Ty finds his phone in her bag, a blazing row ensues:

“You can’t be trusted,” Kirsty fumes. “When are you going to learn?”

Next thing he knows, Tyrone has been slapped across the face and beaten to the floor, taking a few kicks to the abdomen as he cowers on the ground.

“She’s gonna end up killing you,” Fiz warns him later when she finds him close to tears outside his back gate.

And indeed, this does turn out to be the last straw for Tyrone, who is soon begging Tommy to drive him to the coach station so that he and baby Ruby can flee before Kirsty returns from work.

Yet when Fiz hears of the plan, she hares off to stop Tyrone from leaving. Her reason? Well, she believes that the only way for Tyrone to get parental responsibility of Ruby is for him to marry Kirsty. Only through wedlock will Tyrone be able to get father’s rights.

So will he return to the house of pain or go ahead with his flit?

The trouble is, of course, that Fiz still has to work alongside Kirsty at Underworld. And on Fiz’s first day back following her injury, it all kicks off once again.

Rob and Michelle call Fiz and Kirsty into the office and warn them not to cause any further aggro. But when Tommy calls into the factory over lunch to discuss his concerns for Tyrone, Kirsty overhears and demands to know what’s going on. What follows has big repercussions for Fiz's future career at the factory.

Stella and Eve's week also threatens to be a complete wash-out after the ceiling in the Rovers’ back room caves in thanks to a leak under the bath upstairs. Jason tells Stella that she’ll need a new bathroom, but soon finds himself undermined after Owen takes over and prepares a quote.

Later, Jason asks Owen whether he can buy into the business and become a partner. “Thanks for the offer but I’m not interested,” comes Owen reply.

All of which inspires Jason to strike out on his own and take on the Rovers job as his first solo project. After a few compliments for Stella about her singing voice and dress sense (could there be a romance imminent?), Jason heads for the yard to collect his tools – only to find that he can’t find them.

Owen acts dumb but Jason accuses him of stealing them in revenge for poaching the Rovers job. Stella’s outraged to hear Owen’s confiscated Jason’s tools and warns Owen that if he doesn’t return them she’ll report him to Trading Standards for his extortionate quote. Will Owen concede defeat?

Finally, Gail takes in an unexpected house guest – yes, it’s scheming Lewis who stages a fall at the Bistro and pretends to have injured his back on Gail’s recently mopped floor. Blaming herself, Gail insists that he should stay at No 8 while he recovers so that she can look after him. If only she knew what he was up to...
