There's a sense of urgency to this first shot of the Doctor and his new companion in this year's Christmas special. The Time Lord is clearly trying to communicate something of importance to Clara Oswin (if that is, indeed, her name). And while we're desperate to know what it is, we're also slightly distracted by what's going on in the background – snow!

Of course, a Doctor Who Christmas special without the stuff was pretty unthinkable but it's still good to have confirmation that, on TV at least, it will be a white Christmas after all...
