All four original coaches will return to The Voice UK for a second series on BBC1 next year.

After a slump in viewing figures in the second half of the first series, and the cancellation of the post-show tour because of poor ticket sales, rumours had been circulating that not all of the star coaches - Jessie J, Tom Jones, Will.i.am and Danny O'Donoghue - would appear again on the talent show.

The Voice sees popstar hopefuls take part in blind auditions so that they are judged on their vocal ability alone, rather than age, looks or personalities. The judges sit with their backs to the singer, but if they like what they hear and want to mentor the contestant they can press a button and turn their chair around.  Battle Rounds follow, and the show concludes in live finals, much like The X Factor.  The 2012 contest was won by Leanne Mitchell, who was mentored by Tom Jones.

All four judges have been vocal about returning to the BBC1 show. Will.i.am said: "This season is gonna be doper than last year!" while Sir Tom Jones added: "I'm really looking forward to seeing and working with Jessie, Will and Danny on the second series of The Voice. I've heard there will be some important changes that will make what is already a good, strong show even better."

Danny O'Donoghue said: "I can’t wait to start the search again for the hottest vocal talent in the UK. I had an amazing experience last time and from what I believe, this year’s gonna be bigger and better, already the level of singers auditioning has gone through the roof and I can’t wait for the rest of the UK to hear and enjoy all the undiscovered artists there are out there… Tom, Will, and Jessie… Bring it on guys!!”

Brit pop sensation Jessie J said: "I'm so happy to be back as one of the original four for series two. It’s going to be even bigger and better this time and I can't wait. Bring it on."

The show, which is hosted by Holly Willoughby and Reggie Yates, will return in spring 2013.
