Action movie fans can look forward to ringing in the New Year with The Last Stand, which features Arnold Schwarzenegger in his first starring role in ten years.

Kim Jee-woon’s explosive movie sees Arnie playing the grizzled no-nonsense sheriff of a one-horse town on the Mexican border, who is pressed into action when one of the most wanted men in the United States attempts to blow through his patch in a bid for freedom.

Judging by the trailer, which gives us our best look yet at the film, it’s going to be jam-packed with stunts, explosions and one-liners – a quintessential Arnie film, basically.

So kick back, relax and watch the Governator tooling up and kicking butt while a cover of John Lee Hooker’s Boom Boom plays on the soundtrack:
