US network ABC is producing a series based on the BBC2 comedy Feel The Force, RadioTimes.com can confirm.
The channel has green-lit production on a pilot, which is being led by Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence. It will be based on Feel The Force, a comedy which aired on BBC2 in 2006. Telling the story of two bumbling WPCs, Feel The Force starred former Green Wing cast members Michelle Gomez and Rosie Cavaliero with Smack The Pony scribe Georgia Pritchett on writing duties.
Alongside knowing references to cop shows from Cagney & Lacey to Taggart, the Scottish-based sitcom featured the aforementioned duo of wacky cops as they struggled to prove themselves in the male-dominated arena of law enforcement. It was cancelled after just six episodes thanks to unfavourable reviews and flagging viewing figures.
But that hasn’t seemed to deter Lawrence who’ll return to ABC where he’s previously worked on shows including Spin City, Scrubs and most recently Cougar Town.
