It comes as quite a shock to Chas, who feels that she acted in self-defence. Worse still, most of the Dingles look set to disown her following her admission of guilt. Unknown to everyone is the fact that the one who dealt Carl the fatal blow – Cameron Murray – continues to walk around as a free man.
Chas will make her appearance in court on Thursday, but will any of her family be there to support her?
“We can’t just abandon her,” pleads Lisa, to which Cain replies, “I don’t see why not.”
However, husband Dan turns up at the police station with a fresh set of clothes for Chas to wear in court. “She needs someone on her side,” he tells Ali.
Charity, though, is certainly not in a forgiving mood. As the Dingles debate where they stand on the issue, she lays it on the line: “No phone calls, no visits, nothing.”
It’s a position with which patriarch Zak clearly agrees: “Debbie needs to know that we’re all together on this.”
