If your idea of a nice hotel is a restful place peopled by polite and courteous staff only too happy to attend to your every last whim, you'll want to steer well clear of Hotel GB...

Channel 4's upcoming (and pioneering) celebrity hotelier series sees a group of the broadcaster's most prominent celebs take control of a real hotel full of real guests.

The Basil and Sybil of C4's team are sweary super-chef Gordon Ramsay and bob-haired retail guru Mary Portas, while their Manuels, Pollys, Terrys and so on are made up of Gok Wan, Dr Christian Jessen, Phil Spencer, Kirstie Allsopp, Katie Piper, Kim Woodburn and Hilary Devey.

While the trailer's pretty good fun, there's a serious side to HotelGB too, as the stars are attempting to raise as much money for charity as they can while running the hotel. So unless they want to attract the ire of the generous and good-hearted British public, they're going to have to learn to work together fast.

Hotel GB begins on Channel 4 at 9:00pm on Monday 1 October.
