The cast for Larry David’s upcoming HBO comedy movie Clear History isn’t merely pretty (pretty, pretty) good – it’s positively stellar.
As well as Jon Hamm, who’ll be playing David’s nemesis in the film, The Wrap reports that the cast includes Kate Hudson, Danny McBride, Bill Hader, Michael Keaton, Eva Mendes and Amy Ryan.
Curb Your Enthusiasm alumni Philip Baker Hall and JB Smoove, who respectively played Larry’s doctor and housemate in the comedy series, will also have roles in the new project.
HBO recently released an outline of the film’s plot, revealing that David will star in Clear History as Nathan Flomm, a former marketing executive at an electric car company who loses his fortune after falling out with his boss (Hamm).
Ten years on from their altercation and Nathan is living under an assumed name in Massachusetts, but when the employer who cost him everything turns up in Nathan’s new home state to renovate a summer mansion, the ruined marketing exec vows revenge.
Eastbound and Down star McBride will reportedly play Nathan’s best friend, while Ryan has been cast as his ex-girlfriend.
Keaton is set to play an eccentric quarry owner named Joe Stumpo and Hader is on board as Stumpo’s sidekick.
Mendes will portray a character named Jennifer, and the Curb actors, Hall and Smoove, will play two Massachusetts locals who’ve each got bones to pick with Nathan.
Superbad’s Greg Mottola has been installed in the director’s chair for the new film, which currently lacks a release or air date.
