Famous for: presenting TV programmes such as This Morning and Mr and Mrs
Bio: Fern began her career in Broadcasting in Plymouth before quickly becoming the BBC’s youngest national news presenter.
Since then her career has taken her to dizzying heights and she has hosted Ready Steady Cook, Mr and Mrs, Fern Britton Meets… , Pride of Britain and Soapstar Superstar, as well as her own series That’s What I Call Television in 2007.
But she is most well known for her sunny attitude and infectious laughter during the years she spent co-hosting ITV1’s This Morning with Philip Schofield.
While host of This Morning, she was thrust into the spotlight for a very public battle with her weight. After a dramatic slim down Fern put her transformation down to “hard work”. However, it was soon revealed that she had in fact had gastric band surgery.
You might also know Fern from the string of adverts for Ryvita Minis she appeared in. The most famous of which showed Fern with her head digitally imposed on a skinny body.
More recently, Fern has taken part in the 2010 Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special, coming third after Vince Cable and John Barrowman – so she is no stranger to the Strictly dancefloor…

Here is the bubbly TV presenter in one of the famous Ryvita adverts…
Ellie is an entertainment, TV and film journalist writing news and (hopefully incredibly witty) comment for RadioTimes.com. She loves light-hearted dramas and glossy US series - and is more than a little bit obsessed with Downton Abbey. Foodie, sun-seeker and aspiring novelist in her own time. Likes the fact that her name rhymes with telly.
