Bio: After making a notable feature debut as Sgt Robert Oswald in the second Prime Suspect drama, Salmon graduated from TV policeman to big-screen spy when he played the part of MI6 Deputy Chief of Staff Charles Robinson during the Pierce Brosnan 007 era. 

His other film franchise role is that of James “One” Shade in the Resident Evil series, a character he can be seen reprising later this month when Resident Evil: Retribution opens in UK cinemas. 

But it’s not just acting talents that Salmon can boast of – he’s also a trumpet player and has his own jazz quartet. It’s a skill he demonstrated when playing womanizing scoundrel Note Mkoti in the BBC dramatization of The No 1 Ladies Detective Agency.
