Women's 800m Freestyle Final
7.45pm BBC1, BBC Olympics 9
Who is the big danger to Rebecca Adlington in her strongest event? She’s had great battles with Denmark’s Lotte Friis — they’ve taken it in turns to win titles — but for me it’s 15-year-old American Katie Ledecky. She swam a huge personal best in the US trials. You can't predict what a 15-year-old is going to do at the Olympics. It could all go over her head, or it could be very daunting.
I would back Rebecca all the way to win. It is a different ball game defending your title. The pressure and expectation will be immense. But she's been very good at keeping her head down. Some people have had a very busy winter, they've done a lot of promotional work, but Rebecca's been very selective. She spent a lot of the winter away from it all in California, training. I have huge respect for the way she's done it. Sharron Davies
