There's been very little new data on US Sherlock Holmes update Elementary since the release of the official trailer in mid-May. And while the first poster for the CBS show isn't exactly brimming with revelations it does at least give us a slogan to ponder.

"Obsessive. Impulsive. Volatile. Bloody Brilliant" reads the new promo. None of that should come as a huge surprise, although it does perhaps suggest a slightly less disciplined, more human Holmes, and - look! - in "Bloody brilliant" they combined a pun and a reference to his Englishness.

It's also clear that Miller's overcoat and scarf combo - very reminiscent of Benedict Cumberbatch's Sherlock costume - is going nowhere, although he's clearly not a man afraid of pink, a colour BBC Sherlock would rather confine to his studies than his wardrobe...
