You’d have thought baddies the world over would’ve learnt not to mess with Bryan Mills after the pastings Liam Neeson doled out in Taken, but they’re clearly a less smart bunch than we thought as the Irish actor’s soon to be back on our screens serving up new worlds of hurt in the film’s first follow-up.

Taken 2, the sequel to the action packed 2008 thriller which saw the Irish actor taking no prisoners as he tracked down his kidnapped daughter in Paris, sees retired CIA agent Mills and his wife taken hostage in Istanbul by the father of one of the baddies slain in the first film.

Showcasing a sunny-looking Istanbul, the movie’s newly-released trailer features Neeson battling a swarm of gruffly-spoken crooks led by a bearded fanatic who looks eerily reminiscent of recently-deceased South African right-winger Eugène Terre'Blanche.

With all guns blazing and the action taking to the rooftops of Turkey’s capital city, the film promises to be every bit as adrenaline-charged as its predecessor.

Boasting a cast featuring Maggie Grace, Famke Janssen and Rade Serbedzija (Boris the Blade in Guy Ritchie’s Snatch), Taken 2 is scheduled to blast its way into British cinemas this October. Lock 'n' load...
