Conspiracy of Hearts – 1.00pm, Channel 4

Thought-provoking Second World War drama about a group of nuns who defy the Nazis to help Jewish children escape a concentration camp in war-torn Italy.

Doc Hollywood – 6.50pm, ITV3

Folksy comedy about a high flying plastic surgeon (Michael J Fox) who undergoes a radical change when he becomes stranded in rural South Carolina en route to a glamorous life in Hollywood. 

Hud – 9.00pm, Sky Movies Classics

Paul Newman gives the on-screen performance of his life as a heedless rancher’s son with an appetite for destruction in this Oscar-winning drama from director Martin Ritt.

Final Destination – 10.10pm, Sky Movies Sci-Fi/Horror

When a group of teenagers narrowly escape a mid-air catastrophe, they believe they have cheated death. However, the Grim Reaper has other plans in this gory thriller from X-Files veteran James Wong.

Shinjuku Incident – 11.15pm, Film4

Action flick with Jackie Chan as a mechanic who goes to Japan in search of his sweetheart, but soon finds himself drawn into a world of crime, violence and gang warfare.

Monty Python’s The Meaning of Life – 12.00am, ITV4

The final outing for the Pythons, this selection of surreal sketches from the renowned comedy team includes a live organ transplant, an offbeat musical number that pokes fun at Catholicism, and the infamously tasteless ‘Mr. Creosote’ scene.
