Twi-hard fans around the world are celebrating Edward Cullen's 111th birthday in style, with the release of a new trailer for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2.

The release marks the transition from lovey-dovey honeymoon scenes between newlyweds Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) and Bella Swan (Kirsten Stewart), to the ominous attack by the Volturi, a powerful coven with a pallid Michael Sheen as their ringleader.

The trailer opens with newly-fanged Bella Swan, who announces, "After 18 years of being utterly ordinary, I finally found I could shine. I was born to be a vampire." "You're so beautiful," her new husband coos in her ear, before old friend Jacob (Taylor Lautner) admits, "I didn't expect you to seem so... you."

The new 80 second clip then shifts to the Volturi's discovery of the lovers' offspring, Renesmee, who they believe to be an immortal child (a crime in the vampire community). In fact Renesmee is half-mortal, half-vampire - or "born, not bitten" as Bella remonstrates - but that doesn't stop the impending Volturi advance...

Dramatic music, fanged figures sweeping through snowy countryside and Edward Cullen's silky-toned sweet-nothings should whet the appetites of the many fans of the franchise, but they'll have to wait until 16 November for the film to be released in UK cinemas. In the meantime, enjoy the sneak preview...
