The former Pussycat Doll was sworn in as a judge on The X Factor last Friday and joined Gary Barlow, Tulisa Contostavlos and Louis Walsh on the show's audition tour in Newcastle today.

Upon her arrival, Scherzinger made a splash on the red carpet at the city's Metro Radio Arena and posed for this snap (left) which was posted on The X Factor's official Twitter feed.

Yesterday the 33-year-old tweeted: "Just landed in Newcastle and the sun is shining:) So excited to start the UK X Factor tomm. Here we go...!" and earlier today posted another message on her Twitter feed, which said: "Just got to Newcastle XF, my first day on the job and the fans r amazing! Wish me luck! Xo"

Speaking about her appointment last week, Scherzinger said: "I’m so excited to join the UK X Factor family. It's where I got my start, so it feels great to come full circle."

She added: "I can’t wait to see what talent the UK has to offer and to help inspire and bring out the best in these artists."

The judges will be in Cardiff next week for the final date of the X Factor's audition tour, which takes place on Monday 25 June.
