Don't cha wish the new judge'll be hotter than Louis? Well then, good news: former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger will be occupying the fourth spot on this year's X Factor judging panel, Syco has announced.
Fresh from her recent guest appearance in London as part of the ITV show's audition tour, the sassy singer will join fellow judges Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh and Tulisa Contostavlos on the ever-popular talent show later this year.
She replaces departing judge Kelly Rowland, who officially quit the series in April due to "scheduling issues".
Thrilled about her new job, Nicole said: “I’m so excited to join the UK X Factor family. It's where I got my start, so it feels great to come full circle. I can’t wait to see what talent the UK has to offer and to help inspire and bring out the best in these artists.”
Having sold 15m albums and 37m singles as a member of the Pussycat Dolls, as well as notching up a UK number one album with her first solo release, Scherzinger's pop credentials are nothing short of impeccable, which should stand her in good stead as a judge on the show.
She first appeared on the British X Factor in 2010 as a guest judge and took up a post on the show's US incarnation in 2011, before being let go earlier this year.
Peter Fincham, Director of Television, ITV, said: “Nicole will bring her wealth of experience, both as a solo artist, and as a member of a group, to this year's Judging panel. We're delighted that she'll be joining us for the forthcoming series.”
Ms Scherzinger will begin her new job on Monday 18 June and take up her position on the panel when the audition tour reaches Newcastle, and she'll also be in place for the final date of the tour on Monday 25 June in Cardiff.
