Star Trek: Insurrection - 6.45pm, Film4

In their ninth big screen outing, the crew of the Enterprise must defend the exotic planet Ba'ku where the natives enjoy eternal youth and live in harmony. Only poor old Patrick Stewart earns a few more worry lines.

Every Which Way but Loose - 7.45pm, ITV4

In the sequel to Any Which Way You Can, Clint Eastwood and his orangutan buddy hit the road to Denver. They indulge in beer and bare-knuckle fighting along the way, which just goes to show that opposable thumbs weren't necessarily a step forward in human evolution.

Fantastic Mr Fox - 9.00pm, Film4

George Clooney is even foxier than usual in this adaptation of the Roald Dahl children's book, lending his voice, along with Meryl Streep and Bill Murray. It's a retro puppet version from director Wes Anderson who is about to unleash his next film Moonrise Kingdom.

Boys Don't Cry - 9.00pm, Sky Atlantic

In this heartrending drama, based on a true story, Hilary Swank lives as a man and moves to the small town of Falls City, Nebraska. It's a bad move, but Chloë Sevigny offers a shoulder to cry on, unaware that he is a she. Awkward...

Forgetting Sarah Marshall - 10.00pm, ITV2

Other discomforting moments include running into an ex while on holiday in Hawaii, but in this case, it's also fertile ground for laughs. Kick back and enjoy Jason Segel putting himself at serious risk of heat stroke.

Conspiracy Theory - 10.00pm, Channel5

Ever feel like somebody's watching you? So does Mel Gibson in this twisty action thriller co-starring Julia Roberts as a sympathetic yet sceptical lawyer. We're not trying to control your mind or anything: just watch it...
