Yet another snippet of video has emerged online to whet cinemagoers' appetites for Ridley Scott's upcoming Alien prequel, Prometheus.

Following the release of several trailers, viral videos and other bits of ephemera, the first actual clip from the film has been posted on YouTube.

The footage, which showcases the film's impressive CGI effects, shows the space-ship Prometheus on its descent to an alien world and gives viewers a look at the crew working together to land the craft safely.

Starring Noomi Rapace,Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron and Idris Elba, Prometheus is due out in cinemas on Friday 1 June.
