Lauren Socha will not be appearing in the fourth series of E4’s Misfits.
The Bafta-winning actress, who was recently sentenced to four months in prison, suspended for 12 months, for racially abusing a taxi driver, will not reprise the role of Kelly in the drama.
Channel 4 said in a statement: "A mutual decision was reached between Clerkenwell and Lauren earlier this year that she would not be returning for the fourth series."
"Misfits has been in production for a number of weeks now and Lauren is not part of the lineup."
A spokeswoman for the channel confirmed that the actress’s absence from the series has nothing whatsoever to do with her recent legal troubles.
She said: "No. Clerkenwell Films and Lauren Socha agreed some time ago that along with other cast members, including Iwan Rheon and Antonia Thomas, she would not be returning for the fourth series of Misfits, which is currently in production. Channel 4 supports both parties' decisions."
Socha had been a regular actress on the sci-fi drama since its first series was broadcast in 2009.
The next series of Misfits will be broadcast on E4 later this year.
