Tom Cruise will be regaling audiences with covers of classic tracks by Guns ‘n’ Roses, Def Leppard and Bon Jovi when Rock of Ages is released this summer.
The Mission Impossible star plays fictitious rock star Stacee Jaxx in the upcoming movie musical, which has been adapted from the hit West End and Broadway stage show.
Cruise will be belting out 'Paradise City' by Guns 'n' Roses, 'Pour Some Sugar on Me' by Sheffield's Def Leppard and will duet with actresses Malin Akerman and Julianne Hough on Foreigner's 'I Want to Know What Love Is' and the Bon Jovi classic 'Dead or Alive' respectively.
He will appear alongside the likes of Catherine Zeta Jones, Russell Brand and Alec Baldwin in the new film, all of whom will also be piping out hair metal hits from yesteryear.
Zeta Jones will sing solo on the Pat Benatar song 'Hit Me With Your Best Shot' and will team up with tousle-haired comic Russell Brand for a medley of Starship's 'We Built This City' and Twisted Sister's 'We're Not Gonna Take It'.
Brand will also team up with Alec Baldwin on 'Can't Fight This Feeling', which was a hit for REO Speedwagon in 1985.
Rock of Ages' soundtrack will be rounded out by contributions from actors Diego Boneta, Paul Giamatti, and singer Mary J Blige.
Like the musical, the film will conclude with most of the cast performing Journey’s hit song ‘Don’t Stop Believing’.
Directed by Adam Shankman, Rock of Ages will be released in cinemas on Friday 15 June.
