Adrian Scarborough is the latest actor to be cast as a guest star in the upcoming series of Doctor Who.
He will play a character named Kahler Jex in an episode directed by Saul Metzstein, according to Spotlight.
Scarborough, currently starring in BBC1 period drama Upstairs Downstairs as butler Mr Pritchard, will be known to fans of comedy Gavin & Stacey as Mick and Pam's friend Pete. He also appeared in Psychoville, Cranford and Oscar-winning film The King's Speech.
Other stars already confirmed for series seven include Sherlock's Rupert Graves, Harry Potter's David Bradley and The Fast Show's Mark Williams, who can also be seen in BBC3's supernatural drama, Being Human.
Williams, who will play a character named Brian Williams in Doctor Who, was recently photographed filming scenes on a South Wales beach alongside Matt Smith and Arthur Darvill.
Series seven of Doctor Who is expected to begin airing later this year.
