Move over David Blaine, there’s a new magician in town. Dynamo, or Steven Frayne as his mum knows him, is a newcomer to the conjuring scene and a rather impressive talent to boot.

He’s already hosted his own showcase TV series, Dynamo: Magician Impossible, which went out last year on Watch, and in his time he’s levitated Matt Lucas, walked on water and turned a lottery ticket into cash in front of Robbie Williams.

And he’s not short of ambition either, saying, “when people think of magic, I want them to think of me” in an interview in this week’s Radio Times.

Some of our journalists and staff were lucky enough to meet the 29-year-old wunderkind from Bradford recently, and he was good enough to put on an impromptu display of close-up magic for them, which was captured on camera.

You might think you’ve seen card tricks before, but we guarantee you won’t ever have seen anything like this, with cards transforming, disappearing and materialising in a display so awe-inspiring as to be positively spooky. Anyway, no need to take our word for it - check out the video at the top of this post and see what makes Dynamo, well, magical…
