Prometheus is Ridley Scott's first sci-fi directorial effort since Blade Runner in 1982.
The film, which stars Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender and Idris Elba, is about a group of scientists and explorers who find themselves trapped on a distant planet. The idea was originally conceived as a prequel to Scott's 1979 classic Alien. It is being shot in 3D as the format "opens up the universe even for the small scenes", according to Scott.
Prometheus is due for UK cinema release in June 2012.
