In 1995, three career criminals were brutally gunned down in a remote country lane in Essex. Their lives and violent deaths were the subject of 1999's
, starring Sean Bean, and 2006's
Rise of the Footsoldier
, which starred Craig Fairbrass and Terry Stone. As if they weren't enough, the same events have been filmed for a third time here, with Tamer Hassan, Vincent Regan and Adam Deacon heading an all-British, all-hardman cast - Danny Dyer and Geoff Bell must have been otherwise engaged. The film also features two actors who were in the
film, one reprising his original role (Terry Stone), the other, confusingly, playing someone completely different (Neil Maskell). There's nothing especially wrong with
Bonded By Blood
, though the acting is a touch strident at times and the shotgun climax, by contrast, a bit muted. But one must question whether it needs to exist at all, ploughing as it does an already well-worn crime-film furrow.
Three drug dealers rise rapidly through the Essex underworld in the 1990s, using a campaign of fear and violence to maintain their position. However, as rivals vie for power, the three gangsters are left facing an uncertain fate. Fact-based crime drama, starring Tamer Hassan, Neil Maskell, Vincent Regan and Terry Stone.
