Our Score
One can understand Blake Edwards's frustration at seeing a successful series stopped in its tracks by the death of Peter Sellers. Yet surely the critical mauling meted out to those cut-and-paste jobs Trail and Curse, should have alerted him to the fact that the public were simply not interested in Clouseau clones. Here he is, however, putting that uniquely talented Italian comic Roberto Benigni through his paces as a gormless gendarme, whose only talent is to annoy poor old Herbert Lom. The kidnapping plot is inane, the slapstick inept and the cast ineffectual. All in all, mind-bogglingly bad.

Comedy sequel which sees Inspector Clouseau's over-enthusiastic son on the trail of a kidnapped princess, proving to be just as inept as his father every step of the way. Starring Roberto Benigni, Herbert Lom, Claudia Cardinale, Burt Kwouk, Debrah Farentino and Graham Stark.
